A Collaboration of Karachi University with ConnectHear

MediaVerse Press Release

KARACHI, Pakistan, 7 May 2025

The University of Karachi, in partnership with ConnectHear, proudly participated in the Access.Ability. CareerS. Fair 2025—an impactful initiative aimed at bridging the gap between career opportunities and individuals with disabilities. This powerful collaboration was facilitated by MediaVerse, the university’s student-led magazine and advocacy platform for inclusive media and education.

A dedicated delegation of differently-abled students from the university was taken to the fair, reflecting the institution’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion. The event provided students with direct access to inclusive employers, career counselors, and empowering conversations designed to open new doors for their professional future.

We extend our special thanks to the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khalid M. Iraqi, for providing transportation and wholeheartedly supporting the cause. Gratitude is also extended to Dr. Nosheen Raza, student advisor, for her continuous support, and to Dr. Asmat Ara, chairperson of the Department of Mass Communication, for her encouragement and cooperation.

The delegation was taken by Syeda Mona Batool Taqvi, teaching assistant at the Department of Mass Communication and founder of MediaVerse, whose vision made this initiative possible.

This event marks a significant step toward reshaping societal narratives around disability—by not only highlighting the potential of differently-abled individuals but also advocating for an inclusive workforce. This initiative stands as a proud moment for the University of Karachi & Mediaverse—a reflection of its deep-rooted values of empathy, equality, and progress.

Through platforms like MediaVerse, the university is shaping a future where inclusion is the norm. This wasn’t just an event of connecthear —it was a step toward a more just and accessible Pakistan.

MediaVerse, the student-led platform of the department, proudly concluded such a marking, another step toward students with practical career skills.
