Welcome to the second edition of MediaVerse, the Department of Mass Communication’s digital platform and magazine. Last year, a class of forty-two students launched MediaVerse as a course project. One year later, it has grown into our departmental platform, bigger and better in many ways.
This year we had a vision, an aim, a drive that centered on change, on individual level and collectively, that inspired “MediaVerse for Change.” MediaVerse is not only a magazine, but a bridge between industry and academia, which aims to promote sustainable collaboration, inclusivity and ground level impactful change for the future generations of the Department of Mass Communication.
It reflects our commitment to work with purpose, to strive for better, and to contribute to positive change in society, starting with the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Karachi. This magazine is a testament to hard work and hope. Each piece shares a story of resilience, courage, and steady dedication while facing real-world challenges. Taken together, these stories suggest a shared responsibility and a path forward.
In that spirit, I hope this Edition sparks a small but meaningful change within you, one that helps you grow and encourages you to support change around you. I am grateful to the entire MediaVerse team and to my mentor, Prof. Dr. Asmat Ara as their support and effort made this initiative possible.
Please dive in and reflect. Let MediaVerse be a companion on your journey of discovery and change.
Remember, every change begins with a single step taken with clear intentions!
With hope and perseverance,
Ms. Syeda Mona Batool Taqvi
