Coming Home to Yourself
Somewhere between where I was and where I thought I should be, I disappeared.
It wasn’t loud or dramatic just a quiet fading.
The kind that happens when you’re everywhere on the outside, but nowhere within.
Life didn’t pause. It rushed forward.
And I kept running, forgot to ask why I was even running.
There’s always something to chase:
A goal.
A better version of yourself.
A finish line that moves every time you reach it.
In this never-ending loop, we’ve stopped experiencing life.
We’re just surviving it.
Moments pass us by.
Achievements barely land before we’re off to the next task.
Nothing truly sinks in anymore.
We confuse activity with purpose.
We confuse busyness with worth.
We live at a pace that doesn’t let us breathe
And then wonder why we feel so distant from joy.
The way we experience time has shifted
And not in our favor Everything is fast.
Everything is public.
Everything is pressured.
We chase success, approval, relevance.
We post to prove, smile to perform, achieve to feel valid.
And yet, inside, many of us carry a strange hollowness.
A silent ache that whispers, “You’re not doing enough,”
Even when we’re stretched thin.
And in this race, we lose ourselves.
I ran and I ran, still felt far behind,
Chased every glow, but dimmed my own light.
Laughed in the crowd, but cried when alone,
Forgot that real peace is quietly known.
Stillness isn’t weakness.
It’s strength wrapped in softness.
It’s where you remember how to breathe without guilt
It’s the kind of quiet that feels like healing,
Not because something changed around you,
But because something softened inside you.
In stillness, you’re no longer performing.
You’re present.
You’re real.
Sometimes, growth doesn’t come from doing more
It comes from letting go.
Letting go of pressure.
Letting go of unrealistic timelines.
Letting go of the fear that rest equals failure.
You’re not late. You’re not behind.
You’re allowed to move slowly.
You’re allowed to live deeply instead of loudly.
You’re allowed to choose peace, even when the world keeps choosing pace.
The world may always be rushing,
But you don’t have to.
You can pause.
You can breathe.
You can exist quietly and still live fully.
Because the most important person to you… Is always you.
So, if you’ve been feeling lost somewhere between what’s next and what’s now
Maybe it’s time to stop running.
Not because you’ve failed…
But because you’re finally ready to come home to yourself.
